Therapy for Dissociation

It’s time to lower your masks and get to know your true self

Dissociation, or parts that dissociate, present on a spectrum. Dissociation is a very natural occurrence within ourselves. From zoning out; to separate parts with their own identities that disconnect you from yourself to handle the thoughts, feelings, surroundings, or memories that you are experiencing at that time.

Dissociation is a normal and natural response to trauma, stress, boredom or overwhelm. It allows for your brain a chance to take a break from processing information throughout the day.

During traumatic experiences, dissociative parts are created as a way of helping you handle and survive the experience. These parts are strong and protective, working diligently to continue to protect you from danger. By befriending these parts, you can unburden them and create a sense of trust and connection.

Therapy for dissociation can help these parts heal from the overwhelm to create clarity and a sense of trust within self.
