About Jeni
Hi, I’m Jeni Olson, and I’m really glad you’re here. As a therapist and human; I believe in transparency, openness and being human together in the therapy space. My path in life and as a therapist hasn’t been neat or linear. It includes rock bottoms, deep pain, moments of feeling broken or defective, and learning how to laugh at myself in the middle of really hard things. Because of these experiences, I know how terrifying it can feel to let someone in and say things out loud for the first time. I also know what it feels like to live every day carrying trauma and what it feels like on the other side of healing through EMDR. EMDR and EMDR intensives were a powerful part of my own healing journey, allowing me to move through experiences in a focused, supported way that created real relief and lasting change. My personal experience in healing is why I offer EMDR Intensives for your healing journey. To create intentional space for your nervous system, mind, and body to process what you’ve been carrying without the start-and-stop of weekly therapy. I trust the body’s ability to heal when given the space to do so, and I trust you in your journey. If you’re curious whether an EMDR Intensive might be right for you, I invite you to read more about intensives here and then to schedule a free consultation where we can talk about what you’re hoping to work through, how intensives work, and whether this approach feels right for you.
Jeni is currently only offering EMDR Intensives. Learn more about EMDR Intensives and whether they are right for you on your healing journey here.
Sessions With Jeni
I know what it feels like to live every day after experiencing trauma, and I bring that understanding into this work with you.
Just as I shared in my story, I know how hard it can be to carry experiences that feel overwhelming, confusing, or shame-filled and I also know what it feels like to move through life in healing with EMDR. My lived experiences, along with my professional training and deep passion for learning and understanding how trauma affects our mind, body and soul, allows me to sit with you not just as a therapist, but as someone who deeply respects the courage it takes to do this work.
In your EMDR Intensive, your space is created for intentional healing. We give your nervous system space to ground and to process your stored experiences. Space for you to heal and process those experiences while releasing the burdens you were never meant to carry while seeing the beauty in the strength you empower. Everyone’s story is different, but many of us need the same things: connection, understanding, and a place where we don’t have to pretend we’re okay.
I know how hard it can be to reach out and risk not feeling heard or understood. Creating a space where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable is the foundation of what I do. The body was created with the natural ability to heal itself when given the right conditions. EMDR Intensives allow us to create that space together in a deeper, more connected way than traditional weekly therapy often allows.
I am genuinely invested in you and bring an accepting, authentic, and energizing presence to our work together. I believe deeply in connection and in the resiliency of the body and mind to heal. I trust you in your journey. I specialize in EMDR and am IFS-informed, meaning we can move at the pace your body, mind, and soul need. There are no expectations here: just support, intention, and space for healing.
Specialties And Training
I received my Master of Social Work degree from UW-Madison in 2013 with a mental health concentration. Following graduate school, I received 3000 hours of supervision to become a Licensed Clinician Social Worker within the Community Support Program, a program dedicated to guiding those with the most isolating diagnosis to remain in their home and engaged in the community. Here I learned the beauty within those diagnosis of schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, mood disorder and dissociation. As a licensed clinical social worker within private practice, I found this calling to create space for those who feel most isolated to feel safe and secure within themselves.
EMDR trained in 2020 and found this modality incredibly healing for those parts of you that may not have a voice or may not have been heard. Receiving 20 additional hours of supervision, I became a certified EMDR therapist in 2022.
Additionally, I have received extensive training in:
- Attachment Focused EMDR
- Complex trauma
- parts work
- somatic integrative therapy
- IFS informed EMDR along with extensive Internal Family System training to bring this healing modality to parts that may need more space to be heard.
With a passion to create places of acceptance and belonging to all individuals, I have been accepted into an EMDR Consultant in Training program beginning in 2023 to assist other clinicians in building their confidence with EMDR and complex diagnosis.
