About Luke

Hi! My name is Luke, and I’m looking forward to helping you navigate your journey toward wellbeing and health. Reaching out and asking for help can be challenging and scary. I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to sit with you and work through what you are experiencing. I take a very client-centered approach in my work and recognize that you are the expert on you and your own life. I know how helpful having a safe space to share your thoughts and feelings can be, and have been blessed with great support throughout my own journey of recovery. Sharing your vulnerability can be uncomfortable, weird, and awkward.  I want to help you embrace that “weirdness” and honor the strength that you show when asking for help. I work with individuals 12 years of age and up. I am proud of you for reaching out, and glad you are here.

Sessions With Luke

As a therapist, I believe that people are the experts on their own lives and work to meet them where they are in their journey to wellbeing and recovery. I believe every single person has their own unique journey to healing and work to help navigate that journey with support, empathy, compassion, and collaboration. I recognize that everyone has their own story and experiences and that each person coming through the door is unique, important, and worthy of being heard. I use a trauma-informed approach in my work and adhere to best practices when working with clients.

Specialities And Training

I graduated from the UW-Stout with a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Health Psychology. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin and have over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. I began my professional journey working in residential care with youth. I have worked as an in-home therapist providing individual and family therapy. I have experience working in college counseling, providing group counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, and couples counseling. I have worked as an outpatient therapist as well as managed an outpatient clinic. My most recent role was working as a behavioral health administrator in a local county, overseeing various behavioral health programs. I understand complex systems in a working environment and recognize the importance of integrating all aspects of a person’s life when working toward well-being and healing. I am trained in the CAMS model of managing suicidal ideation and intent and am trained in critical incident stress management (CISM). I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model in my work, often incorporating pieces of Solution-Focused and systems Theory. I am TF-CBT trained and have a strong passion for working through a trauma informed lens.
