Therapy for Eating Disorders

Your body is not the enemy. You deserve to feel safe within yourself.

Eating disorders can become incredibly loud. Food, body image, movement, numbers, rules, and fear can begin taking up so much space that it is hard to hear anything else.

At Creative Healing Mental Health Center, we do not see these symptoms as something to shame or fight. We get curious about what they have been doing for you. Sometimes control around food or your body began as a way to feel safer, calmer, more accepted, or more in control when other parts of life felt overwhelming.

You are more than the eating disorder. Therapy can help you understand the parts of you that learned these patterns, reconnect with your body, and begin building a relationship with yourself that is rooted in safety instead of fear.

See the Beauty in Your Symptoms

Your symptoms may have developed for a reason. We can honor how they helped you survive while creating new ways to feel safe, connected, and present.

Do any of these feel familiar?

  • Food feels complicated. Meals may bring anxiety, guilt, shame, fear, or a need to follow rigid rules.
  • Your body never feels “good enough.” You may spend significant energy criticizing, checking, comparing, or trying to change it.
  • Control feels necessary. Changing what, when, or how you eat may feel like one of the only things you can control.
  • You feel disconnected from hunger, fullness, or your body. It may be difficult to know what your body needs or to trust its signals.
  • You find yourself stuck in cycles. Restriction, binge eating, purging behaviors, compulsive movement, or food rules may feel difficult to interrupt.
  • You are exhausted from thinking about food and your body. Even when others cannot see the struggle, it may take up a huge amount of mental and emotional space.
  • You want connection but also want to hide. Eating around others, social events, clothing, intimacy, or being seen may feel vulnerable.

Eating disorder therapy can help you build awareness, compassion, flexibility, and safety within yourself.

Imagine A Life Where You Can:

  • Feel more at home in your body without needing to constantly monitor or criticize it.
  • Have more flexibility around food and less fear when routines or plans change.
  • Notice what your body needs and begin rebuilding trust in its signals.
  • Understand your triggers with curiosity instead of shame.
  • Feel your emotions without immediately needing to escape, control, or shut them down.
  • Connect with others without food or body thoughts taking over the moment.
  • Make choices from your values instead of from fear, rules, or the eating disorder voice.
  • See yourself as a whole person instead of a body, a number, or a diagnosis.

You do not have to fight your body to heal.

Healing can begin with understanding instead of judgment. We can slow things down, create safety, and get curious about what your eating disorder has been trying to protect.

Our approach is collaborative and whole-person. Depending on your needs, eating disorder care may also include coordination with medical providers, dietitians, psychiatry, or a higher level of care. Outpatient therapy is one part of treatment, and we want to make sure you have the level of support your body and mind need.

You deserve a life with more room for connection, choice, and you.
