Elizabeth Herriott, Counseling Intern
About Elizabeth
Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I am a counseling intern here at Creative Healing. As your counselor, my goal is to create a trusting and compassionate environment, where you feel seen, heard, and accepted. I value meeting you where you are and tailoring my approach to fit your individual needs and lived experiences. As an inclusive counselor, I am committed to providing a safe space where all identities are respected. My hope is to help you feel supported and empowered in your own journey towards healing and growth.
Sessions With Elizabeth
I hope to bring a relaxed, open, and authentic approach to our sessions, where we can work as a team to figure out and move towards your goals and values. I hope that being in session with me feels like you have someone by your side to listen without judgement, ultimately helping you feel like you don’t have to go through this alone. As a counselor who values building self-awareness and working towards growth, I also bring a deep sense of curiosity to session. I value both exploring the past and learning to live in the present moment, as well as challenging clients to do the hard things and take new perspectives.
Specialties And Training
I am currently enrolled in UW Stout’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s program, where I am specializing in crisis and trauma and eating disorders. In addition to these specialties, I am interested in working with first responders, using a CPT-informed approach to help them navigate and heal from the unique challenges they face. I also have a background in crisis work, often helping people to stay safe while experiencing suicidal ideation and self-harm. I am most experienced in working with clients in their teens and above but am open to getting experience with clients of all ages, as well as couples and families.
